Reflections on Ignatieff and Harper

"There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old's life:
The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged.
One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes,
leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood,
unable to deal with the real world.
The other, of course, involves orcs."
- Kung Fu Monkey
The country would doubtless be a better place had these two yahoos been introduced to Tolkein.
I'm just sayin'.

Thanks Susannah.

I have seen the ad - and I like the fact that it calls him on his appalling ethics.

Torture is wrong.

It's also stupid, since information obtained by torture is unreliable.

But mostly it's just wrong.
